I have always enjoyed delicious dark chocolate truffles from gourmet restaurants and shops, but some of those ran $3 or more for one truffle! So I wanted to learn how to make my own truffles, and I was amazed when I found out how to make them.

I only share simple recipes, and chocolate truffles are seriously one of the easiest desserts you can make! And the truffles are a no bake chocolate dessert, which means you don’t even need to use the oven to make them.

What Ingredients Are In Rainbow Chocolate Truffles?

Great news, only two ingredients are needed for this amazingly elegant dessert!

All you need to make amazing chocolate truffles are two ingredients, chocolate and heavy cream! That’s it, as long as you have these two ingredients on hand, you can make these easy chocolate truffles.

We do use a third ingredient in this recipe, the Rainbow Nonpareil Sprinkles, but you don’t really need them. You can make amazingly delicious, very easy homemade chocolate truffles with just two ingredients!

How Are Rainbow Chocolate Truffles Made

Here is the easiest recipe for making delicious gourmet chocolate truffles.

1. On a low heat bring heavy cream to simmer. You don’t want the heavy cream to boil, just simmer is enough for this recipe.

2. Pour heavy cream over dark chocolate, and let it stand.

3. Make ganache by mixing everything together, and cool for a bit. Then, put it in the fridge to cool more.

4. Roll delicious truffles fast. You need to roll them fast, as ganache will start melting.

No, mushroom truffles are completely different. Chocolate truffles are made from chocolate and heavy cream, no mushrooms are needed to make them.

What else can you add to truffles?
Add some vanilla essence to the ganache for even more flavor.

These rainbow chocolate truffles take just a few minutes to make, and they are an amazingly impressive gourmet dessert! They also make fabulous Valentines Day gifts. Find out how to easily make them with just three ingredients.

  • In a pan on low heat, bring the heavy cream to a gentle simmer. Take the heavy cream off the heat.
  • Put chocolate chips in a mixing bowl. Pour heavy cream overthe chocolate chips, and let it stand for a few minutes. Then mix, until everything is completely combined. You made ganache.
  • Let ganache cool for 15 to 20 minutes. Then put ganache in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Line the cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Take the chocolate ganache out of the refrigerator, and roll truffles. Do so quickly, as your warm hands will warm up ganache, and it will start melting.
  • Roll the truffles in the rainbow nonpareil sprinkles, put them on parchment paper on the cookie sheet, and put them back in the refrigerator, until you are ready to eat them.

    I think these are the easiest truffles I’ve ever seen. Now to figure out how to not eat them all in one sitting.

    • Hi Kimberly, as you need to keep the truffles in the fridge, we do not recommend sending them by mail. Can you send sprinkles, chocolate chips and a link to the recipe to your son? Then he will just need to get some heavy cream, and he will be able to make it.
