Looking for a great fall salad, that you can serve for dinner, or maybe even for Thanksgiving? Apple salads are great fall salads, because, well, they contain apples, a perfect fall ingredient. And apples combined with green lettuce, a bit of crunchy onions, tasty nuts and Blue cheese go great together. With a very simple dressing of Apple Cider Vinegar and a bit of olive oil, this is a great fall salad that will be great for dinner or for Thanksgiving.

I have a confession to make – I am not that big on fruits. I mean, fruits are ok, but I strongly prefer vegetables to fruits. But when I put fruits together with cheese and nuts, the combination is much better. So if you are not a big fan of fruits, try fruits with nuts and cheese – the combination is definitely much better than fruits on their own. To make Apple Salad Recipe With Blue Cheese, Bibb Lettuce, Walnuts, Onions, the first thing that you will need are apples. You can use different types of apples in this salad, Golden Delicious, Jonathan or Gala apples, are all going to taste great in this salad. You don’t need to peel apples for this salad. Just core them and chop.

You will also need a few leaves of Bibb lettuce or Boston lettuce. Chop the lettuce, and a bit of white onions. Chop and toast some walnuts. Then, make the salad. In a salad bowl combine apples, lettuce, onions and walnuts. Dress with Apple Cider Vinegar and Olive Oil, season with black pepper. Mix the salad, then add some crumbled blue cheese and serve.

Ingredients For Apple Salad Recipe With Blue Cheese, Bibb Lettuce, Walnuts, Onions

2 Medium Apples
3-4 Leaves of Bibb Lettuce or Boston Lettuce
A handful of Walnuts
1/4 of a small White Onion
1/4 Pound of Blue Cheese

Freshly Ground Black Pepper
1 Teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil

How To Make Apple Salad Recipe With Blue Cheese, Bibb Lettuce, Walnuts, Onions

Wash, core and chop apples on a cutting board.

Peel and chop the onion. Wash and chop Bibb lettuce.

Chop the walnuts and roast them for a few minutes.

In a salad bowl, combine apples, lettuce, onions and walnuts. Add apple cider vinegar, olive oil and season with black pepper. Mix the salad. Crumble blue cheese on top of the salad and serve.

  1. I also make a watermelon salad that has fetta in it. It also has pitted kalamata olives and a dressing made from finely shredded mint leaves and lemon juice. I serve it with marinated lamb backstraps. Delicious! And like you say, a great way to eat fruit.
