How To Cook Tuna Salad

Tuna salad is one of my favorite foods. It is a simple, humble dish, there is nothing gourmet about it. But it is one of those simple and delicious things that you will cook again and again.

You don’t need to know a lot about cooking, and you don’t need to use a lot of ingredients to make a delicious tuna salad. Tuna, onions, celery and some other items from the pantry, and you can make a tuna salad in no time.

Because there are just a few ingredients in this dish, using good, quality ingredients is important. For my tuna salad, I like to use the No Salt Tuna from Trader Joe’s. Since this canned tuna does not have salt, I can add as much or as little salt to the tuna salad.

I really like this version tuna salad – it’s tasty, refreshing and it makes a great lunch! I have made tuna salad many times and have tried many different versions, and finally settled on this version of tuna salad.

This tuna salad recipe has the crunch element from onion and celery, a subtle kick from mustard and a fresh herbal element from parsley. Enjoy!

Ingredients for Tuna Salad Recipe

1 6.5 oz Can of tuna in water
1 Small Celery Rib
1/4 of a Small Onion
1/4 Tablespoon of Parsley
1 tablespoon of Mayonnaise
1/4 Teaspoon of Olive Oil
1/8 teaspoon of Dijon Mustard
a Dash of Sweet Paprika
Salt
Freshly Ground Black Pepper

For The Tuna Salad Sandwiches

2 Buns
2 Tomato Slices
A Handful of Lettuce

How To Make Tuna Salad

Open the can of tuna. Drain the tuna.

Peel and wash the onion. Clean and wash the celery rib. Wash parsley.

On a cutting board finely chop celery, onion and parsley.

In a salad bowl combine drained tuna, chopped celery, chopped onion, chopped parsley, mayonnaise, olive oil, mustard, paprika. Try the salad and add salt and pepper to taste. If your tuna has added salt, you may not need to add any salt at all.

To make tuna sandwiches, put the bottoms of the bread buns on a plate. Put half of tuna salad on each half. Add lettuce and tomato, and then cover with the tops of the buns.
