I used to always buy dry chickpeas, and then boil them on the stove top. They came out great, but they took a long time to make and I had to watch them.

Enter the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. This is a great tool to make chickpeas! It doesn’t take nearly as long as it took on the stove top, and I don’t have to watch them! I just add everything to the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker, press a few buttons, and soon I have perfectly cooked chickpeas, ready for this homemade hummus recipe! Once your chickpeas are cooked, combine all the ingredients in the Food Processor, and process until smooth.

  • Drain and rinse the chickpeas. If they are hot from being cooked, make sure to cool them completely before you make hummus.
    Wash and use a lemon juicer to juice the lemon. Measure about 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
    Peel the garlic cloves and process through the garlic press. Wash and chop the parsley on a cutting board.
  • In a food processor combine olive oil, tahini paste, garlic, parsley and lemon juice. Process until smooth.
    Add chickpeas and salt, and process again until smooth. Now try the hummus, and adjust it to taste — you may need a bit more lemon juice, tahini or olive oil.
  • To serve, arrange your homemade hummus on a plate, add some olive oil and paprika on top. Serve with Air Fryer Chicken Breasts, Air Fryer Asparagus, and Cabbage Salad.
