Here are the tools that you need to make chocolate cake pops:

Cake Baking Pan, 9 x 13 cake pan is needed to bake chocolate cake that will be used for making Christmas chocolate truffles.

Mixing Bowl, you will need a good mixing bowl for mixing chocolate cake pieces and chocolate frosting.

Parchment Paper, line a baking sheet with parchment paper when cooling chocolate cake truffles, so that the candy don’t get stuck to the baking sheet.

Baking Sheet, line a baking sheet with parchment paper for setting Christmas cake pops in the refrigerator.

What do you need to make these delicious chocolate cake balls? Here are the ingredients that you will need:

Chocolate Cake Mix, you will need a cake mix for making this Christmas cake balls recipe. With a chocolate cake mix you can make a chocolate cake in just 5 minutes, and then use it to make Christmas cake pops!

Eggs, water, oil, you will need to add them to the chocolate cake mix to make a cake.

Chocolate Cake Frosting, use store bought frosting just like you are using the chocolate cake box mix to make these chocolate cake pops quickly.

Chocolate Melts, for dipping Xmas chocolate cake truffles into melted chocolate melts. You can use other chocolate ingredients, but chocolate melts can be melted fast, and they are very simple to use for making easy cake pops.

Cake Pops with Cake Mix

Why use Chocolate Cake Mix for making cake pops? If you are busy around the holidays (and who isn’t busy?), then you don’t have much time to spend on making holiday desserts.

Chocolate Cake Mix to the rescue! Use it to get the chocolate cake ready in minutes! Or use Yellow Cake Mix or White Cake Mix to make cake pops. Any cake mix will work for this recipe, just get creative with the frosting and sprinkles that you use.

How to Make Cake Balls

It’s pretty simple to make these Christmas cakeballs, even if you have never made them before. Here is how:

1. Make Chocolate Cake. Add Chocolate Cake Mix and other ingredients for the cake to the mixing bowl and mix all the cake ingredients together.

Use butter to butter the 9 x 13 Baking Pan. Pour mixed cake batter into the pan. Bake chocolate cake using the instructions on the cake mix box.

Once the chocolate cake is baked, take it out of the oven and cool it completely.

2. Make Chocolate Balls. Once the cake is completely cool, crumble it with your hands into a large mixing bowl. Make sure that the crumbles are not too big. Once you add all the crumbles into the mixing bowl, also add some Chocolate Frosting and mix well. If the chocolate cake and frosting mixture is not wet enough for you to roll into balls, add two more tablespoons of Chocolate Frosting and mix the ingredients again.

3. Decorate Christmas Cake Pops. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll the chocolate cake and frosting mix into round truffles and line up the truffles on parchment paper.

If you only want to cover cake pops in Christmas Sprinkles, then roll them in sprinkles before lining them up on Parchment Paper. Once you fill up the baking sheet with chocolate cake truffles, put the cookie sheet in the fridge to cool the truffles.

Get a second baking sheet and line it with Parchment Paper as well. Melt Chocolate Melts according to package instructions.

Dip the truffles that are not covered with sprinkles in melted chocolate and line them up on parchment paper. Sprinkle with Christmas Sprinkles and put back in refrigerator to cool again.
