Tips For Making Avocado Toast with Salmon

You can use pretty much any bread you want for this recipe. We are using multigrain bread here, and you can also use whole wheat bread, white bread, or any other bread that you have on hand. The bread is mostly the vehicle for buttery avocado, salty and smoky salmon, crunchy cucumbers and flavorful basil.

For this recipe, we prefer the avacado to be roughly mashed. If you prefer, you can mash it very finely, or you can cut avocado into thin slices instead.

Don’t have cucumbers on hand? Thin slices of tomatoes will be great for this as well.

Another herb that will work great on this sandwich is dill, as dill, cucumbers and salmon go amazingly well together. Or, use scallions or even red onions for this breakfast avocado toast.

And this is not just for breakfast anymore. While it is a great breakfast recipe, you can also serve it for brunch, lunch or even dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 Avocado
  • 2 slices Wholewheat Bread
  • 2 oz Salmon smoked
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 1 oz Basil fresh

Instructions

  • Toast the bread. While the bread is toasting, wash the cucumber and basil. Remove the basil leaves from the stem. Slice the cucumber on the cutting board.
  • Wash the avocado. Cut into halves, remove the pit, and use a spoon to remove the flesh. Put it in the small mixing bowl and mash with a fork.
  • Spread half of avocado mix on each toast, top with smoked salmon, cucumber, basil and serve.
