How To Cook Vegetable Soup

Want some vegetable soup? When people want vegetable soup, they sometimes go to their pantry, get a can of vegetable soup out of it, and heat it up.

I have another idea for you! Don’t buy vegetable soup in a can. Canned vegetable soups usually contain too much salt, and homemade soup tastes so much better! You can make vegetable soup yourself that tastes much better and is much better for you! And, vegetable soup is also pretty simple to make. As you can see, there is no reason to buy vegetable soup in a can — you can make it yourself!

There are different types of vegetable soup that you can make. You can make vegetable soup that is not vegetarian, if you use chicken stock or beef stock when cooking it.

Or, you can make vegetarian vegetable soup, if you use water or vegetable stock. I sometimes make vegetable soup with chicken stock, and sometimes with water. Either way it always comes out delicious!

Tools You Will Need To Make Vegetable Soup

Knife
Cutting Board
Soup Pot

Vegetable Soup Ingredients

2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
3 Celery Stalks
3 Carrots
1 Medium Onion
3 Medium Potatoes
0.75 Pounds of Green Beans
A few handfuls of Frozen Peas
Water or Chicken Broth or Vegetable Broth

Salt
Freshly Ground Black Pepper

How To Make Vegetable Soup

Chop celery, carrots and onions on a cutting board. Add olive oil to the soup pot. Add chopped celery, carrots and onions. Saute on low to medium heat until vegetables are soft.

Peel and chop potatoes. Add potatoes and water or chicken stock or vegetable stock to the pot. Increase heat, bring to boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer until potatoes are almost done.

Add washed and chopped green beans and frozen peas. Cook until potatoes, beans and peas are done.
