Here is a great and very simple recipe for a vegetable side dish – Swiss Chard sauteed with garlic. It has just a few ingredients, and it makes a healthy and great looking dish. So if you are looking for easy Swiss Chard Recipes, take a look at this one, it is easy to make and it tastes great.

In this recipe I am using red Swiss chard, and it gives the dish great colors, red and green. The dish looks great and it tastes great too.

This Swiss Chard Recipe is very similar to the Garlic and Broccoli Rabe Recipe. In this Swiss Chard Recipe I first boil the Swiss chard, then cool it, strain it and saute in olive oil. I finish the dish with a tiny bit more olive oil on top, to give it a bit more flavor.

Ingredients For Swiss Chard Recipes

1 pound of Red Swiss Chard
2 cloves of Garlic
2 tablespoons of Olive Oil
1 tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

How To Make Swiss Chard

Wash Red Swiss Chard and trim it. Chop Red Swiss Chard, keeping stems separately and leaves separately.

In a large pot bring water to a boil and add the chopped stems of Red Swiss Chard. Cook for 2 minutes, and add the chopped Swiss Chard leaves to the pot. Cook the leaves and stems for 5-7 more minutes.

Strain the Swiss Chard and let it cool. Once the Swiss Chard is cool, squeeze more water out of it.

Peel and chop the garlic. Heat up two tablespoons of olive oil in a frying pan. Add Swiss chard and saute for 3-4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes.

To serve, arrange the Swiss Chard on the serving platter, drizzle one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil on top and serve.
