I like lamb, and lamb and tzaziki sauce is always an excellent combination. If you have had a gyros sandwich, the white sauce that they put on the sandwich is tzaziki sauce, and it goes really well with the gyros meat, tomatoes and onions.

So I set out to make something similar, except that instead of gyros meat I am making my own lamb patties! Serve the patties with the sauce and vegetables in a pita, and here is a fabulous main dish for you!

This is a great main dish to serve for a Greek or Mediterranean themed dinner. You can also make Greek salad to go with it.

How To Make Lamb Patties With Tzatziki Sauce

Chop the onions and parsley on a cutting board.

In a mixing bowl combine lamb, onions, parsley, egg, ground cumin, salt, pepper. Mix well.

Make the patties. Heat up the oil in the saute pan. Fry the patties without crowding them – when you don’t crowd them you get a good crust on them. Fry them for 4-6 minutes on one side. Then turn them over and fry until done.

On a cutting board chop cucumbers, onions and tomatoes.

Build the pitas. Put a pita on a plate, put a few patties on a pita, add the tzatziki sauce and add chopped onions, cucumbers and tomatoes.
