How To Cook Bacon In The Oven

When I cooked bacon in a skillet, I always had bacon problems. Some pieces came out too crispy and even burned (and I had to throw out a few pieces of bacon :( ). Others weren’t cooked crispy enough. Each piece was cooked differently. Plus, I had to stand over the skillet and watch the bacon and turn it all the time. Not a very easy thing to do, is it?

So after burning my bacon a few times, and having to throw out some burned bacon (and I really hate having to throw out bacon!), I started thinking about cooking bacon in the oven. It sounded better, because the bacon will cook evenly, and I would not have to watch it.

So I tried cooking bacon in the oven, and the only thing I was sorry about was why I didn’t try doing it sooner. It created very evenly cooked bacon, and I had to do much less work! And I never through out bacon again!!

So if you want to make BLT Sandwiches, Club Sandwiches, Pasta With Bacon or any other recipes with bacon, learn how to cook bacon in the oven!

The secret to cooking bacon in the oven is using a roasting pan with an insert. This way you can place the bacon on the insert and the fat drips to the bottom, leaving you with tasty and crispy bacon on top.

How To Cook Bacon In The Oven

Pre-heat the oven to 450F.

Place bacon in one layer on the insert of the roasting pan with an insert, so that bacon fat could drip to the bottom of the pan.

It is very important to do this in one layer, as you want to make the bacon crispy. Don’t crowd the bacon. If you do two layers, the bacon will not crisp up.

Cook bacon in the oven for 20-25 minutes, depending on your oven and how crispy you want your bacon to be.

Fairly crisp…not so much that it shatters but just enough so that it won’t fold without breaking
