Gift Ideas For Those Who Are Learning To Cook

Every holiday season I hear from people looking to buy Christmas gifts, Hanukkah gifts or holiday gifts for people who are learning to cook. They do not want to buy a gift that is cooking-related, but is completely useless to the recipient. At the same time, people who ask me questions usually have a very specific price range for the gift, and they do not want to exceed it.

This year is different from the previous years. First, because of the economy, more and more people are saving money by cooking at home instead of going out. This means that when their friends and family members are looking to buy them gifts, they are looking for gifts that have something to do with cooking.

And second, because of the economy, many people are looking to spend less money on Christmas gifts, while still buying gifts that the gift recipients will find useful.

Here are some ideas for Christmas gifts fir people who are learning to cook.

Christmas Gifts Under $20

There are a ton of gifts that you can get for under $20. And my favorite cooking magazine is one of them. Cooking Light Magazine is my favorite magazine that I really enjoy reading and I frequently use recipes from the magazine when making dinner.

The dishes that come out are tasty and flavorful, and many are very simple to make. This is a great magazine for anyone who is learning to cook or has been cooking for some time.

One basic thing that any cook needs is a cutting board. The most basic things that you need to do, such as chop vegetables, are done using a cutting board. I know people prefer wooden cutting boards, but I love the plastic ones. You can get a cutting board for just $14.99 for your gift!

Christmas Gifts Under $50

Here is my favorite recipe book, The New Best Recipe Cookbook. This is a must-have for anyone who wants to cook, especially those of us who are just learning to cook. All the recipes in the cookbook have been tested many times, and the directions and explanations of the recipes are very thorough and in-depth. I like to read what they have tried for each recipe, and which methods did or did not work. The cookbook costs $23.10.

Another tool that every cook needs is a versatile roasting pan. You can use a roasting pan for baking a turkey for the holidays, making lasagna, roasting vegetables and so much more. The Roasting Pan for $27.99 will do just that.

And now for something fun, how about a Sangria Pitcher? If your gift recipient likes to make sangria, this is a great gift for them! And, maybe you will be invited to the party the next time they make sangria :)

Christmas Gifts Under $100

In this price range you can choose from many different things. And one of the first gift possibilities to consider is a good knife. A knife will serve your gift recipient for many years to come - it is a great investment in their cooking. Here is a Santoku Knife that will make a great gift.

Another piece of equipment that any cook needs is an 8 Quart Pot. There are quite a few uses for this pot. You can use to make pasta, boil potatoes, make stock, and lots of other different things.

And if the 8 quart pot is a bit too big, how about a 6 Quart Pot? It is a bit smaller, but it can still be used to sauteing meat, making soups, braising, making chili, risotto and much more.
