Easy Apple Crisp Recipe

Looking for an easy apple crisp recipe? A while ago I posted a recipe of Pear and Apple Crumble. A big difference between that recipe and this one is that in the crumble I melted butter, and I didn’t melt it in this one. Having tried both ways, I prefer not melting the butter, as doing that produced an even tastier topping.

I love to cook savory foods, but I don’t cook desserts that often, and I thought that this was an extremely simple dessert to make. Try it - it is easy to make, and results are great. Oh, and serve your apple crisp with vanilla ice cream, just like you see in the picture. It is delicious that way!

Mixing Bowl

Ingredients for Apple Crisp

6 large apples
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
1.5 tablespoons of flour
a pinch of cinnamon

For the topping:

3 tablespoons of butter
1 cup of oats
1/2 cup of flour
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of chopped almonds
a pinch of cinnamon

How To Make Apple Crisp

Peel, then core and chop your apples on a cutting board.

Mix together apples, two tablespoons of brown sugar, one tablespoon of flour and a pinch of cinnamon.

Make the topping: Chop the butter into small pieces. In another mixing bowl combine butter, oats, 1/2 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of chopped pecans, a pinch of cinnamon.

Put the apple mixture on the bottom of the 9×13 baking pan. Top with the topping.

Pre-heat the oven to 350F. Bake the apple crisp for 40-50 minutes, until done.

Serve the apple crisp warm, with ice cream.

Angeli, thank you for your comment!

Feel free to skip the nuts in this recipe - you will still get a lot of crunch from the oats.

Let me know how the recipe comes out.
