Cucumber Salad

There are some ingredient combinations in cooking, that everyone knows about and uses when they cook. Sausage and peppers, lemon and garlic, parsley and garlic, they find themselves together in different recipes because their flavors are really complementary.

Another one of these combinations is dill and cucumbers. I really like this combination, as dill and cucumbers together in salads and cold soups really work together and create a great combination of flavors and textures.

Here are a few salads that have dill and cucumbers in them: Tomato, Dill and Cucumber Salad and Greek Salad.

In this dill and cucumber salad the dill cucumber combination stands out even more, as the salad does not have too many ingredients.

Yummy! You know I have practically no culinary skills, but this is not only something I could make, but something I would make…and actually enjoy. I’d be inclined to use a red onion, both for flavor and color, and I might even experiment with halving the sour cream and using Greek yogurt for the other half.

    Thanks for posting this!

Julie, you are very welcome! I think red onion will be great in this salad. And for Greek yogurt, I have made this salad quite a few times with just the yogurt, no sour cream, and it was delicious.

Enjoy and let me know how the salad comes out!
